Ding Yanzhang Visits Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo

On September 2, CEEC General Manager Ding Yanzhang visited Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo who paid a state visit to China and attended the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Both parties had a friendly exchange on further deepening the win-win cooperation. Chen Xiaohua, President and General Manager of CGGC, President and Secretary of the Party Committee of CGGC International, also attended the meeting.

First of all, Ding Yanzhang extended his welcome to President Nana Akufo-Addo and his delegation. He noted that as a comprehensive central enterprise integrating planning & consultation, survey & design, engineering contracting, equipment manufacturing and investment & operation, CEEC’s business scope covers Perse fields such as electric power, energy, transportation, housing construction and municipal engineering. As a backbone enterprise of CEEC, CGGC has rich investment and construction experience in African markets. Ghana is an important strategic market of CEEC in Africa, and CEEC is willing to fully leverage its advantages in integrated industry chain and powerful resource integration abilities, and extensively participate in the investment and construction in Ghana in such fields as water, civil explosion, new energy and infrastructure.

President Nana Akufo-Addo noted that CEEC and its subsidiary CGGC has built a remarkable number of national livelihood projects in Ghana by virtue of good performance capacity and high sense of social responsibility, and has made great contributions to the economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood of Ghana, being a trusted partner of Ghana. The Ghanaian Government will always support CEEC’s development in Ghana, and create a more equitable and orderly investment and construction environment. He also hoped that both parties could establish more extensive and in-depth cooperation in the future.

Ghana is located in western Africa and houses abundant mineral resources. The Ghana Kpong Water Supply Plant Expansion Project undertaken by CGGC is the largest water supply project in Ghana so far, and has won the certificate for high-quality project issued by the Ministry of Health and Water Resources of Ghana. Completed in January 2017, the 360MW Combined Cycle Power Station (Phase II) of Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Ltd. with CEEC Guangdong Power Engineering Co., Ltd. as EPC contractor is the first power station invested by China in Africa.
