Chen Xiaohua Visits President Obiang of Equatorial Guinea

On September 1, Chen Xiaohua, Chairman of CGGC, paid a visit President Obiang of Equatorial Guinea who came to China to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Both parties had friendly communication about strengthening the friendship and deepening the cooperation, with positive achievements made.

Friendly Talks

Chen Xiaohua extended sincere gratitude to President Obiang and the Government of Equatorial Guinea for their long-term trust and support to CGGC under CEEC, one of Fortune Global 500 enterprises. He also introduced the achievements made by CGGC in Equatorial Guinea over years. He noted that Equatorial Guinea is an important strategic market for CGGC. CGGC always adheres to the concept of sustainable development, and focuses on the construction of projects regarding Equatorial Guinea people’s livelihood, achieving the rolled development from single project to multiple projects. Malabo Sewage Treatment Project, the most advanced and largest sewage treatment project built by CGGC in Equatorial Guinea, has solved the drinking water safety problem of over 200,000 people in Malabo, capital of Equatorial Guinea, and has been running smoothly for three years. In the meantime, CGGC also extensively participates in such social public welfare undertakings as education, training and donation, and proactively fulfills its social responsibilities in line with the concept of “Repaying Equatorial Guinea and Benefiting Local People”. CGGC is willing to give full play to its own professional technology and advantages in investment and financing, and to take root in Equatorial Guinea, thus making contributions to the benefits of local people and further strengthening the friendship between people of both countries.

President Obiang highly praised CGGC’s good performance capacity and high sense of social responsibility that win high recognition from all walks of life in Equatorial Guinea. He also extended sincere gratitude to CGGC for entering Equatorial Guinea and its long-term support to the economic and social construction of the country. He noted that Malabo Sewage Treatment Project is a model for projects regarding people’s livelihood in Equatorial Guinea, and hoped that CGGC could continue promote the smooth implementation of the Malabo Urban Water Supply Project as always. President Obiang invited CGGC to extensively participate in construction projects in such fields as water, electric power, transportation infrastructure and agriculture in Equatorial Guinea, thus continuously strengthening the long-standing friendship of the two nations.

After the meeting, President Obiang accepted Chen Xiaohua’s invitation to attend the ceremony for the establishment of Office Building of CGGC in Equatorial Guinea and ribbon-cutting.

Among the attendees were also the Mission Minister, Foreign Minister, Finance Minister and Ambassador to China of Equatorial Guinea, Yuan Baoyi- Deputy General Manager of CGGC International, and principals of CGGC Northwest Africa Headquarters.
