Delegation Led by Aggrey Masi- Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining Visits CGGC International

On August 28, a delegation led by Aggrey Masi- Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining visited the Beijing headquarters of CGGC International on the eve of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Chen Xiangdong, Deputy General Manager of CGGC International, warmly received the delegation. Both parties had in-depth exchanges on the continuous deepening of cooperation in the energy field in Malawi, and successfully signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on hydropower projects.

During the meeting, Chen Xiangdong briefed the delegation on the development of CGGC, its Persified business sectors and outstanding achievements made in recent years in the field of global engineering investment and construction, and emphatically introduced the development of CGGC in global power sector and African markets. Chen Xiangdong extended the sincere gratitude to the Government of Malawi and the Ministry of Energy and Mining for their full trust and support to CGGC over time. He noted that as a banner leading the China-Africa Cooperation, the forthcoming Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will surely bring great opportunities for further cooperation between the two parties. Always attaching great importance to the Malawi market, CGGC is willing to keep adhering to the development concept of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration based on existing projects, and jointly explore in-depth cooperation in the electric power field in Malawi together with the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Malawi.

Minister Masai noted that he had a new and deeper understanding on the comprehensive strength of CGGC, especially its outstanding achievements in the electric power sector. At present, as the social economy develops, the demand for energy and electric power in Malawi increase as well. CGGC has fully demonstrated the strong technical advantages as an international excellent engineering contractor in the successful cooperation between both parties in the KAPICHIRA Phase II Hydropower Project. The Government of Malawi attaches great importance to the importance of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in promoting the cooperation between both countries, and is willing to take this opportunity to further deepen the in-depth cooperation with CGGC in the fields of electricity and minerals for the benefits of the Malawian people.
