Wang Jianping Visits Niger President Issoufou

On the afternoon of August 30, Energy China Chairman Wang Jianping visited Niger President Issoufou who came to China to attend 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Both parties had friendly exchange on further strengthening the cooperation in such fields as power, energy and infrastructure construction in Niger. Zhang Lijun, Chinese Ambassador to Niger, was also present.

Wang Jianping extended sincere gratitude to President Issoufou for his reception out of busy schedule. He noted when he introduced Energy China that, as a Fortune Global 500 enterprise,Energy China is one of the largest comprehensive solution providers for the electric power industry in China and even the world, with its businesses covering such fields as electric power, transportation, house construction, municipal engineering, oil and gas. As a backbone enterprise of Energy China, CGGC has accumulated rich experience in international engineering. He thanked the Niger Government and the president for their trust in Energy China. Niger is an important strategic market of Energy China, and Energy China is willing to fully leverage its advantages in industrial chain and proactively participate in planning, consultation and investment in such fields of electricity, railways and oil & gas in the Niger to make more contributions to the economic and social development of Niger.

President Issoufou highly recognized the comprehensive strength of Energy China, and praised the powerful technical strength and rich achievements of CGGC in the field of hydropower construction. He noted that Niger is vigorously promoting economic recovery, but also suffers great challenges of electricity and food shortage that obstacle the economic development of Niger. He hoped that Energy China could play its full industrial chain advantages, proactively participate in electric power, farmland water conservancy and other infrastructure construction projects in Niger, and take full part in overall economic development of Niger. He also hoped that both parties could further deepen the cooperation in the future.

Located in central western Africa, Niger houses rich uranium, oil and other mineral resources. CGGC won the bid for civil works of Lot of Kandadji Hydropower Station in Niger in December 2017. It is the first hydropower station in Niger, as well as the country’s Centennial Project.

Kalla Ankouraou- Foreign Minister of Niger, Kané Achatou Boulama- Minister of Planning, Niger Ambassador to China Inoussa Moustapha, etc. were also present. Xue Danfeng- Director of Energy China International Business Pision and Lyu Zexiang- General Manager of CGGC International attended relevant activities.
