Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize Awarded to Two Projects with Energy China Involvement

On 12th April, 2019, the 16th Awarding Ceremony of Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize was successfully held in Beijing, China. Xiaowan Hydropower Station and Jinping II Hydropower Station, which China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC), a subsidiary of Energy China, ever participated in, were officially conferred the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize 2019.

Xiaowan Hydropower Station, located in Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province of China, is the second stage power station of the plan of “Two Reservoirs and Eight Stages” in the middle and lower reaches of Lancang River. With the installed capacity of 4200MW, it's the signature project of “West-East Electricity Transmission Project”, and annually generating electricity of 19 billion kWh in average. This project has been awarded International Milestone Project Prize of International Commission on Large Dams, and the Gold Medal of National Quality Engineering Award.

Jinping II Hydropower Station, located in Liangshan of Sichuan Province of China, is also known as the signature project of “West-East Electricity Transmission Project” with the installed capacity of 4800MW, and annually generating electricity of 24.23 billion kWh in average.

The Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize, to be awarded once a year,  is the top honor for civil engineering, construction as well as science and technology application in China.
