Mohmand Hydropower Station is another landmark water conservancy and hydropower project built by CGGC in Pakistan following NJ, SK, DASU and KAROT hydropower projects that have milestone significance, and represents a new breakthrough made by CGGC in the field of energy cooperation in Pakistan. It will further boost the implementation of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and consolidate the long-standing friendship between the two countries.

With the total installed capacity of 800MW by 4 x 200MW francis turbine units, the Project is won by the consortium of CGGC and DESCON, and offers about 6,000 jobs for local people in peak time. After all units are put into production, the Project will generate 2.862 billion kWh of power annually, thus enabling to irrigate 16,700ha of additional land, offer local people 140 million cubic meters of drinking water, and create about RMB 2.58 billion of economic income annually.
