Warmly welcoming President Bhandari, Lyu Zexiang noted that China and Nepal are close and friendly neighbors and important cooperation partners, and have achieved smooth cooperation in multiple fields under the context of the “Belt and Road” Initiative. As one of the first Chinese enterprises making their presence in Nepal, CGGC has successively undertaken a variety of key projects including Upper Bodi-Kexi Hydropower Station, Char Moria Hydropower Station and Upper-Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station since it entered the Nepalese market in the 1990s. While providing clean energy for Nepal and boosting the country’s energy development, CGGC has also proactively fulfilled its social responsibilities, promoted the country’s post-disaster reconstruction and accelerating the socio-economic development. CGGC is willing to follow the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration, earnestly participate in Nepal’s national reconstruction and development planning, proactively get involved in construction and investment in such fields as hydropower, power transmission and transformation, transportation, and industrial parks, and make contributions to the interconnection and deepening of practical cooperation between the two countries, thus further facilitating the implementation of the “Belt and Road” Initiative for high-quality development.

President Bhandari extended sincere gratitude to CGGC for efforts it made in energy infrastructure construction and post-disaster reconstruction in Nepal. As she noted, Nepal and China are close and friendly neighbors, and the “Belt and Road” Initiative represents the common interests of people of the two countries. Nepal hopes to further strengthen the cooperation with China in various fields within the framework of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and promote the realization of the important goal of connectivity under this context. The Nepalese Government sincerely invited CGGC to extensively participate in the construction and investment in such fields as hydropower, power transmission and transformation, as well as railways in Nepal, thus putting the friendship between the two countries to a higher level.
