Cooperation Agreement between CGGC and Austrian ANDRITZ AG Signed in Beijing

On April 27, Chen Xiaohua, Party Secretary and Chairman of CGGC and Wolfgang Leitner, President of ANDRITZ AG, signed a memorandum of understanding on the global cooperation framework in Beijing under the witness of Wang Jianping, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of Energy China, and Austrian Prime Minister Sebastian Kurz. This is one of a series of high-end cooperation achievements made by CGGC taking the opportunity of the Second “Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation.

As agreed in the MoU, CGGC and ANDRITZ AG will further deepen the cooperation in the field of hydropower in third-party markets to jointly launch various projects backed by complementary advantages and information connectivity.

The parties had friendly talks before signing the MoU. As noted by Kurz, it is a great pleasure that the Austrian enterprises and Chinese enterprises can join hands for global cooperation. The Government of Austria will always support CGGC and ANDRITZ AG to establish practical cooperation under the context of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, to further facilitate the development of hydropower projects, and to put the strategic partnership between the two countries to a higher level.

Wang Jianping noted that CGGC and ANDRITZ AG have established good cooperation in Asia, Africa, South America and other markets. He hoped that the two parties could make more achievements in development of technologies for high water head large capacity water turbines, renewable energy construction, and investment in the third-party market to further enhance the friendship between the two countries.

Wang Jianping also had in-depth communication with President Wolfgang Leitner about specific cooperation.

The Austrian Ambassador to China Friedrich Stift, Energy China International Business Division Director Xue Danfeng, and relevant principals of CGGC International were also present.

Headquartered in Graz, Austria, ANDRITZ AG is a century-old enterprise with a history of more than 170 years specializing in businesses in such industries as hydropower, paper making and metal processing. As for its hydropower businesses, there are 19 manufacturing bases and 65 business outlets worldwide. In particular, ANDRITZ AG maintains its leading position in technologies and performance of high water-head impulse units.
