Chen Xiaohua Meets with President Bounnhang Vorachith of Laos

On April 25, Chen Xiaohua, Party Secretary and Chairman of CGGC, met with President Bounnhang Vorachith of Laos who paid a state visit to China and attended the Second “Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing. The parties had in-depth communication about the development of CGGC’s businesses in Laos, as well as the project cooperation.

Chen Xiaohua warmly welcomed President Bounnhang Vorachith, and extended sincere gratitude for his long-term support. As he noted, Laos is one of CGGC’s important strategic markets along the “Belt and Road”. CGGC has always attached great importance to Laos market and is looking forward to strengthening practical cooperation with enterprises and all sectors of society in Laos. CGGC has undertaken more than 10 key livelihood projects in Laos since it made presence there in 1992, winning widespread praise from local government and people. CGGC is willing to follow the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration, give full play to the advantages of the whole industrial chain, and participate in construction and investment projects in the fields of power and infrastructure in Laos, thus further boosting the common economic development of the two countries and strengthening the friendship between their people.

President Bounnhang Vorachith highly praised the good contractual capabilities and high sense of social responsibility of CGGC. He invited CGGC to extensively participate in projects in such fields as power, water conservancy, infrastructure and agriculture in Laos to further consolidate the friendship between the two countries and better benefit their people with the remarkable achievements made in practicing the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

Among other attendees were the Foreign Minister, Trade Minister, Director of the General Office of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Office of President Palace of Laos, as well as CGGC International Chief Economist Hu Peng, and relevant representatives of International Department II, Laos Representative Office, etc.
