Lyu Zexiang Meets with Cambodian Minister attached to the Prime Minister Keo Rottanak

On July 14, Lyu Zexiang, General Manager of CGGC International and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, met with Keo Rottanak, Cambodian Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Managing Director of EDC. The parties had in-depth communication about strengthening the cooperation in power sector in Cambodia and further promoting the connectivity of power grids along the “Belt and Road”.

Lyu Zexiang introduced to Minister Keo Rottanak great achievements made by CGGC in investment, construction and operation of power projects, as well as the strong capacity of the International Investment Alliance for Renewable Energy initiated by CGGC in integrating advantageous resources of the renewable energy industry chain in China. As he noted, CGGC has undertaken multiple key projects in Cambodia, such as Stung Tatay Hydropower Plant, Lower Stung Russei Chrum Hydro-Electric Project and Lower Sesan 2 Hydropower Project, since it made its presence in Cambodia in 1998, offering secure, reliable and efficient clean energy for the social and economic development of Cambodia. The 200MW Dual Fuel Internal Combustion Engine Power Station Project signed between CGGC and EDC is now smoothly advanced. Neighboring China, Cambodia is an important fulcrum of the “Belt and Road”. As a global provider of integrated infrastructure solutions, CGGC is willing to give full play to its advantages in infrastructure investment and operation throughout the whole industrial chain, and proactively participate in investment, construction and operation of hydropower, thermal power, new energy, and power transmission and transformation projects in Cambodia, thus effectively facilitating the energy structural transformation in Cambodia and its connectivity with power grids of neighboring countries.

Keo Rottanak highly praised the powerful overall strength of CGGC in power sector. As he noted, in this era with rapid economic and social development, the Cambodian government has regarded power as one of the priority areas. As the “Belt and Road” construction advances, China and Cambodia continuously deepen their pragmatic cooperation in energy sector, and make every effort to accelerate the connectivity of power grids along the “Belt and Road”. He hoped that CGGC could give full play to its expertise, keep participating in investment and construction projects in power sector in Cambodia, strengthen the safety, quality and environmental protection management of projects under construction, and continuously deepen pragmatic cooperation in power sector, thus helping countries along the “Belt and Road” fully utilize each other’s advantageous energy resources to further improve the regional economic cooperation level.
