CGGC International Attends the Sixth China-Indonesia Energy Forum

On July 8, the Sixth China-Indonesia Energy Forum was held in Beijing, attracting about 100 attendees including officials of the National Energy Administration of China and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, and representatives of research institutes and enterprises. Lyu Zexiang, General Manager of CGGC International and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee attended the forum upon invitation and received an exclusive interview.

The forum comprises two sessions themed with power & renewable energy and oil, gas & coal respectively.  Representatives of China and Indonesia shared advanced technologies, cooperation status and future cooperation potential of both countries in such fields as power, new energy, renewable energy, coal, oil and natural gas, and had warm discussions and exchanges on some issues of common concern.


Lyu Zexiang Receives Exclusive Interview

After the meeting, Lyu Zexiang accepted an exclusive interview with the “Belt and Road” Energy Cooperation Network on energy cooperation between China and Indonesia Energy. He noted that Indonesia enjoys abundant energy deposits, abundant renewable energy resources, huge power demands and great development potential. Deepening the “Belt and Road” Initiative keeps in line with Indonesia’s strategic idea of “Global Ocean Fulcrum”, bringing broad opportunities for Chinese enterprises to participate in power energy construction and investment in Indonesia. As a representative Chinese-funded enterprise in Indonesia, CGGC will closely practice the “Belt and Road” Initiative, Capacity Cooperation Strategy and Foreign Connectivity Policy, seize the opportunity of strategic coordination and cooperation between China and Indonesia, strengthen the layout of the Indonesian market, and accelerate business transformation and upgrade. He further noted that CGGC will proactively promote the investment, construction and business integration, further expand and deepen practical cooperation in the energy field between the two countries based on existing cooperation, thus pushing the China-Indonesia relations to a new level.

On July 9, Lyu Zexiang visited Ignasius Jonan, Indonesian Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources, who attended the China-Indonesia Energy Forum in Beijing. The parties had in-depth communication on development of the energy market and project cooperation of CGGC in Indonesia.

Lyu Zexiang warmly welcomed the Minister and noted that Indonesia is an important member of ASEAN and an important fulcrum of the Maritime Silk Road. As the pioneer and leading enterprise practicing the “Belt and Road”, CGGC has successively constructed a batch of key energy projects in Indonesia, including Asahan No.l Hydropower Station, Takara Coal-fired Power Plant and Parit Baru Coal-fired Power Plant since it made its presence in Indonesia in 2006, contributing to the energy economic development of Indonesia, setting a model for Chinese enterprises to fulfill their obligations in the Indonesian market, and winning extensive praise from the local government and the public. CGGC is willing to comprehensively satisfy the energy development planning and energy construction needs of Indonesia, and proactively participate in cooperative development of hydropower stations, pumped storage, coal power, geothermal, gas and distributed power stations in Indonesia adhering to the principle of “achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration”, thus offering systematic and sustainable solutions for power and energy sector in Indonesia and making contributions to the practical cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Ignasius Jonan extended sincere gratitude to CGGC for its active participation in energy infrastructure construction projects in Indonesia. He noted that cooperation in the energy sector has been included by the Indonesian and Chinese governments in their cooperation frameworks and that the cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector enjoys broad prospects and great potential. He hoped to further strengthen the cooperation with CGGC in such sectors as energy development and vocational skills training under the framework of China-Indonesia Energy Cooperation. As he noted, CGGC is always invited to proactively participate in the investment and construction projects in such fields as hydropower, mining, geothermal and pumped storage in Indonesia, thus further facilitating the energy structure diversification, low carbonization and energy transformation of the country.

Zhou Xing, Deputy General Manager of CGGC International, Zhang Chuanhu, Assistant General Manager of China Gezhouba Three Gorges Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., and relevant principals of the International Department II, International Department V and Indonesia Representative Office were also present.
